After winning the FIA European Truck Racing Championship for the fourth time, the new champion Jochen Hahn announced that he will reorientate himself for next year’s season. As of 2017, Hahn will switch makes. In future, he will participate at the FIA ETRC piloting an Iveco race truck. In the occasion of this announcement, Hahn also thanked his previous partner MAN for the great cooperation since 2008. “So far, we celebrated our biggest successes on our MAN race truck. Four times European Truck Racing Champion and once European vice champion, that’s a record of successes speaking for itself,” Jochen Hahn stated shortly before leaving Le Mans. That’s where the season final usually takes place.
Team Hahn Racing and Team Schwabentruck Racing agreed on a technical partnership for the next three years. The new Iveco race trucks will be built during the winter break – at the Team Hahn Racing workshop in Egenhausen and together with the Schwabentruck crew. “We are looking forward to this joint challenge and we are confident, we will be able to continue our successes achieved throughout the last years,” Jochen said after announcing this new cooperation and set-up.
The agreement and the 3-years plan have been approved by the IVECO CEO Pierre Lahutte and by the IVECO marketing officer Jean Patrick Yepke. Both of them were on site at the Truck GP in Le Mans..
